Which file should I download?

When reading from a computer

The PDF file is the easiest to use and read with a computer, and it can be used with a browser or dedicated software. Text can be searched from the PDF, and it has bookmarks made from the headings.

If you want to adjust font sizes, margins and theming, EPUB format makes it possible. Thorium Reader is a free, customizable and multiplatform ebook reader.

The Obsidian Vault files are packaged in a zip file. They work with most operating systems with free software Obsidian.md. It offers almost the same user experience as the website: List/Cards-view with sorting options, great searching functionality, reading list with checkmarks, and a visualization graph. And prophecy files are made with simplistic Markdown format, which means that they can also be opened with any text editor without Obsidian.

When reading from a mobile device

The EPUB version is usually best format for ebook readers and mobile devices, because the font can be adjusted.

The AZW3 is the Amazon Kindle format, and it's the best choice for Kindle devices.

However, for tablets and other devices with a big screen, the PDF file might be the best choice.

When printing to paper

PDF and XPS files are the best ones for printing easily to paper.

However, if you want to adjust the paper margins, font sizes, or something else, it's better to use word processing formats, which allow customizations.

When customizing the layout for one's own use

Word processing software can be used to customize the files. Word Documents are made using styles, so these would be the easiest to edit quickly.

Modern Microsoft Office Word uses DOCX files and free LibreOffice and OpenOffice use ODT files. If you don't have any of these, many free word processing software (like WordPad) can read at least the RTF files.

If all else fails or you want to make files in your own format, then the plain TXT file will be good choice.
